Me : "Hey Canon, don't you want to help me figure out where this vase of ornaments should go?"
Canon : "Absolutely Mom! Even though we have already moved it around the house 15 times, I know the perfect spot."

Me : "Hey dude, why don't you grab that broom so we can sweep the floors."
Canon : "I would love to clean floors instead of watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!"

The fact is that sometimes he just wants to be a boy. He needs to be a boy. He needs to fight with swords, play ball, or stomp around the house pretending he is monster. He needs to build stuff and then destroy it just for the sake of watching it fall. So the other day,we did just that.
Building sand castles proved to be just what the boy ordered and bulldozers provided the perfect tool for destruction.
This was right before nap time - I swear he actually was having fun.
That day was a good lesson for me to remember. All of the Christmas-y crafting, cleaning, and cooking can wait. He won't be a little boy that wants to play with his mamma forever.
He's so cute! So true, he'll only be little for so long!
