Wanderlust : Pittsburgh, PA - Wedding Festivities

I have been putting off blogging about this portion of our trip, not because we didn't have a wonderful time at all of the wedding festivities. We had a blast. We laughed and talked and had a fantastic time. No, the reason is completely selfish and totally dumb.  I don't like the photos that I took.  I was too busy playing with Canon and visiting with family that I completely neglected taking good photos to document our time. Though I definitely do NOT regret the time spent away from the camera, I am ashamed of what I captured.  Still, I promised a recap so here it comes.

We were invited to the wedding rehearsal and dinner on Friday night and I am so excited that we were able to participate.  It gave us a chance to enjoy our family and newfound friends before the craziness of the wedding actually started.  The wedding was held at the First Unitarian Church, and the building itself was beautiful.  Though it was a small church, it held the feeling of a grand cathedral with it's intricate woodwork and stained glass windows.  I felt like I had to walk on the tips of my toes, though, because everyone and their mother down the street could hear me coming in my heels on those wooden floors!  I desperately wanted to channel my inner "Bojangles" and tap my way through the aisles, but I figured it may be frowned upon by those who didn't know that I was a famous dancer I used to dance.  Or maybe I just didn't want to embarrass Craig.  Whatever. {You're welcome, babe.}

Seriously though, these photos?!  Oy vey, but hey, we had fun!

I spy a Canon!

The big day finally came - I finally learned my brother-in-law's middle name! WEDDING DAY!!! I like to think that the reason I didn't get any good photos of the wedding was because I was tearing up the entire ceremony.  Seriously, the groom cried, the bride cried, so of course I cried.  Sweet tears of absolute joy were flowing that day. {That was the reason you were crying, right Kurt?}

The reception was held at PNC Park, which is the Pirates' baseball field.  The venue was absolutely gorgeous and had views of the playing field to one side, and the city to the other side.  It would have been a photographer's dream...if she weren't busy dancing the night away with her two main men.

It was glorious day for all who witnessed the marriage of these two people.  Kara, we are so excited that you share our last name!  Kurt, you are one lucky man - don't forget it!

I will be back tomorrow with {hopefully} better photos of our Pittsburgh adventures!

  1. Aw the fact that you enjoyed yourself FAR outweighs that you don't have loads of photos! And that one of the window is striking enough to make up for any lack :D
