Wanderlust : Disney World 2013 - Day 6

(See recaps of days 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 here.)

When we went on our honeymoon, we spent ten blissful days at the happiest place on Earth.  Ten.  It was wonderful and we were sad to see it end.

Fast foward to 2013 at Disney World with a three year old.  Day six.  Let me let that sink for a minute. THE SIXTH DAY AT DISNEY WORLD WITH A THREE YEAR OLD.  Craig and I woke up excited. Excited that this vacation would be over soon.  Don't get me wrong.  We had so. much. fun. on this trip. Experiencing the magic with Canon was beyond what I had ever hoped for.  I cannot tell you how many times I teared up in the midst of "first times" with him.  However, by day six we were t.i.r.e.d.  For real.  I mean, even our angel of a child (har har) had some rough times during our vacation.  There were temper tantrums due to over-stimulation or just being tired. There were plenty of times when he was wanting to go-go-go and we just needed to sit for a moment.  Welcome to life with a toddler.  We know that.  We wouldn't change anything about Canon or his "moments" because they prove that he is an independent thinker who stands his ground no matter what.  Although those aren't necessarily the most fun traits for a toddler to possess, as an adult I am excited to see the leader that he will become (I believe he will with all my heart).

But back to Disney.  We decided to have breakfast with the characters one last time so we went to Chef Mickey's which is located in the Contemporary Resort.  This resort is literally on the monorail line so the convenience of getting to breakfast and then to the parks is amazing.  Seriously, the next time we go to Disney we plan to stay in one of the monorail resorts (our name for them anyway).

Canon's last cupcake after breakfast.

See the autograph book?  I made that before we left.  I will post about it at another time, but the idea is to create a photo album just for Canon with the autographs and photos of his time in Disney.  Just don't ask if I have gotten around to that part yet.

After breakfast, we headed back to EPCOT for one last hoorah before driving home.  Since we visited the World Showcase the day before, we tackled the other half of the park on this day.  Our only goal was to end Disney with a bang for Canon so we decided to see the Figment (my favorite as a child) and Finding Nemo exhibits.

Ok, so guys listen up.  If you visited EPCOT as a child and rode the Figment ride, just forget what you remember (huh?!).  It is not the same.  It is a journey through your body's senses.  It is cute and Canon loved it.  Word to the wise, though.  When you get to the sense of smell, hold your nose.  Just sayin'.

These squares lit up and made music when you stepped on them, so of course Canon wanted to stay here all day.  The boy LOVES music.  He is so my kid.

After leaving Journey Into Imagination with Figment (That is the official name.  It will always just be Figment to me.), we headed over to The Seas with Nemo & Friends exhibit.  This houses several aquariums, a ride through the ocean in giant sea shells to help find Nemo, and of course Turtle Talk with Crush.  Dude. Canon got to sit up front with the "big kids" and was so proud of himself for this major accomplishment.  I, on the other hand, didn't take my eyes off of him for a second. Worrywart, right here.

My two boys.  "One ping only, Visily."

As we had a seven hour road trip ahead of us, we decided to leave right after lunch.  We had two exhusted adults, one sad toddler (he wanted to live as Disney World forever), and a TON of memories in that packed vehicle.  I think it is safe to say that this vacation is one of our top trips we have ever taken.

We will definitely be back one day, though I think we have decided to spread our money (hahahaha, sorry that sounded like we actually have some) through the rest of the world for a while.

I will be back tomorrow with one last (I promise) post on Disney World - our tips and tricks to getting the most for your money, where to stay, and must-do's while there.  Then I will be done.  Seriously.

    1. Ha! I think it is the same for any birthday. When we were there for our honeymoon, we received special desserts and recognition everywhere we went as well. Gotta love, Disney!
