Wanderlust : Naples, FL - Thanksgiving 2012

My father-in-law lives in Naples, FL. To get there, you go as far down the side of the peninsula as you can without falling into the Everglades and you have made it. One thing to know about South Florida? IT IS REALLY FREAKIN' HOT.  Like, all the time.  Unless you visit during the "off season" (or "cold season" as some of the locals call it). Then it is a pleasant 70-ish degrees.  Absolutely lovely.

We make the 10-hour drive two to three times a year - usually around Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.  We go boating, swim in his pool, have cook-outs, and basically just enjoy time with family.  I definitely got lucky when I married into this family.  Before it gets sappy up in here, let's check out some photos from our time together for Thanksgiving 2012.

We visited the Naples Zoo, which of course thrilled me from the photos aspect, and excited Canon because, well, it's a zoo.

This guy was (obviously) blind, but apparently his hearing was impeccable because kept snapping his head towards the sounds that Canon made.

Canon got to feed the giraffe.  In fact, I believe this was his absolute favorite animal of the trip because it is all he could talk about before and after we actually saw them!

I love teaching moments between father and son.

Amazingly there is a shot of me from this trip!

Of course, I have a ton of other photos, including an engagement session that I shot for my brother-in-law and (soon-to-be) sister-in-law.  However, I haven't yet asked permission to use anyone else's photos on here.  Until then, you will simply be inundated with photos of Canon (and occassionally Craig and myself).

I will be back tomorrow with more travels, but until then...have you ever been to Naples?  Care to share your thoughts or adventures?
